- In 2004, he met Adam Anderson and Scott Forster in Manchester. The trio formed the band called Bureau in March 2006. However, the group disbanded the following year.
- Along with Adam Anderson, Theo Hutchcraft formed the band Daggers which later split up in January 2009.
- The duo later introduced themselves as Hurts and released the band’s debut studio album, Happiness, on August 27, 2010.
